Check your bank notes
The Banknote Checking Scheme is a free initiative from the Bank of England designed to help businesses safeguard against counterfeit banknotes and informed about banknote developments.
By joining the Scheme, businesses can reduce the financial and reputational risks associated with counterfeit notes. Members receive a welcome pack containing comprehensive staff training materials on banknote checking and what to do with a counterfeit note. They will then receive newsletters updating them on counterfeit news and updated best practice, along with a dedicated point of contact at the Bank of England for any queries.
We also provide downloadable booklets and posters for staff training, with physical copies available to order free of charge.
